Three things to check out…
I’ve started reading Women Who Work Too Much by Tamu Thomas and I can’t shut up about it.
I stopped reading “self-help” books a long time ago for many reasons but this book is not that. It’s not a “weekend read” so much as it’s a lifetime read. Not an instruction manual so much as a guide to introspection.
I have only gotten two chapters in so far because of how resonant the themes, journal prompts, and somatic practices are. It creates an inherently slow and steady pace in my body, which speaks to the intention in which it was written. 10/10 recommended.

All of this instability has lead to a collective feeling of misalignment amongst many millennials that can be only be diagnosed as generalized imposter syndrome. According to researchers, imposter syndrome leads to the 4Ps: people pleasing, perfectionism, paralysis and procrastination. This can mean overly deferring to others about your own life choices, and delaying big life events until you feel like you’ll be perfectly ready for them. For millennials, this has meant putting off marriage or kids indefinitely, or moving back home with our parents instead. For single millennials, it’s looked like living with roommates or friends well into their 30s or 40s, because they can’t afford to live alone.
We have endless sayings about the way time feels in different situations: Time flies when you’re having fun. Don’t blink, or you’ll miss it. Time is dragging on. The days are long, but the years are short.
So what is it about time that can make it fly? Blur? Drag? And do we have any control over which “mode” we’re in?
There are two things I’ve learned about time that have fascinated me and changed the way I plan and structure my life.
