P.S. Today is the last day to fill out my newsletter survey. Learn more about that here.
Summertime Sadness is hitting me hard, y’all.
Prior to my (nail) crippling press-on addiction, I used to say you could tell how good or bad my life was going based on whether or not my nail polish was chipped.
Thanks to Chillhouse, my depressive episodes are now linked to how messy my inbox is.
If you’ve attended any of my email-related workshops or Mindful Inbox gatherings over the past year, you know I love me some Inbox Zero. Thanks to the Snooze button and some labeling, I can achieve a clean email life without actually being that proactive about it.
But even a solid snooze is becoming a bit too much to handle right now. And staring into the eyes of the storm that is my Gmail today, I realized the Zoloft ain’t Zoloft-ing like it used to.
Routines feel overwhelming. Deadlines feel impossible. Writing this very newsletter feels…potentially purposeless in my current headspace.
So I just wanted to pop in to say, if your seasonal affective disorder also hits during the summer months, you’re not alone. Do the very best with what you have — even if your inbox and to-do list suffers a bit. And remember, it’s totally okay to cry at work.
Love ya.
