I’m really stoked to be the head coach in SUSTAIN this month! Next Tuesday, September 9th at 10am PT/1pm ET I’ll be guiding folks in an hour-long session around creating aligned rhythms and systems for this upcoming season. If you’re a solopreneur and want to attend for free, click here.
In the interest of Keeping It Real, this summer has been a tad treacherous as I deal with my (now annual?) multi-round of antibiotics for my (now chronic?) UTI/kidney infection combo.
We also discovered mold in our downstairs bathroom that will finally be taken out next week. An absolute nightmare for someone with contamination OCD.
Truthfully, I am physically and mentally un-fucking-well. Despite having a lot of really exciting things coming up, I’m feeling consistently overwhelmed and underwater.
The transition from Summer to Fall is usually a tough one for me because Summer is usually a difficult season for me to get through. But the season change is always a welcomed one; I absolutely love Autumn.
🌞 A Summer Retrospective
Here’s how my summer goals went:
✅ Restructuring my business: Creating a more sustainable business model/structure.
Oh boy, did I! When I say I tended the garden, I mean it:
Starting this month, I’m joining Jenni Gritters and Jamie Cox in co-leading SUSTAIN, a community of solopreneurs who are doing business differently (learn more about that here!)
I parted ways with a few retainer clients/re-defined my scope with others
I updated my offers and increased my prices (also updated my website — check it out!). And I have a new logo 😻 isn’t she so cute??
❣️ Back to basics: Morning and nighttime routines, daily walks, trying to drink more water. My body and mind need support in recovering from the first half of the year.
Daily movement is something I’ve been able to do more consistently this summer, which has been really wonderful for my body. I’m excited to start the new season off with a membership to my community pool to start swimming laps again, and continuing to do Tai Chi in the park on Saturdays.
I also met with Annamarie Green last month to talk through some of the underlying issues I’m having that could be linked to ancestral trauma. It was mind blowing, and so helpful. A reminder that sometimes physical and mental blocks can be linked to things that don’t belong to us.
🍂 Creating Aligned Rhythms for Fall
For me, fall looks like maintaining the projects/clients I already have and doing a better job at taking care of my physical wellbeing. Saying ‘no’ more, getting outside, and striking more of a balance between work and actual rest.
Next week, I’m hosting a session in SUSTAIN that can help you identify the energy you’re wanting to bring into this new season, and the supportive systems that are needed to help you follow through with your intentions. If you’re not a SUSTAIN member yet and want to check it out for free, you can sign up here.
I’m also in the process of creating a separate newsletter for my business owners to get systems tips specifically for them. I’ll likely stay on Substack to write more personal essays and reflections around life & neurodivergence and then have a separate place for business-related things. Stay tuned :)
If you made it this far: What’s something you’re looking forward to this Fall? I just secured tickets to see Romy & Michele The Musical next month and I cannot wait.
Peace, love and workflows,
Andrea
